You're not compelled by your faith to spend two hours watching a man of peace beaten and ultimately tortured to death. You do end up missing out on Animatronic Jesus. But I can live with that. A fun fact from the IMDb trivia department, however: It's Mel Gibson's hands that nail Christ to the cross during the Crucifixion scene. Gibson decided this because he didn't want any further conspiracy about who was blamed for killing Jesus.
