Monday, June 21, 2004 Random thought for the morning -- how many of us TV afficionados can name the networks on which our favorite shows air? Yeah, I thought so. But another question -- how many of us can name the studios that produce our favorite shows? It's not always the same. Dharma and Greg may have aired on ABC, but everyone who worked on the show was an employee of 20th Century Fox. The West Wing and a ton of other NBC shows are produced by Warner Brothers, and Angel belongs fully to Fox, despite airing on the WB and shooting on the Paramount lot. You can find out who produces the show by checking the title cards at the end of every episode -- something you'd normally overlook. But it can mean the world to whoever's working on these shows. For example, the Unnamed Studio that employs me doesn't give screen credit to administrative staff. (Which includes me.)
